Vall de Boí features several mid and high-mountain trails. We here offer a selection of 6 itineraries located inside the National Park and its Peripheral Protection Area, as well as all the valley’s ancient trails.
To walk around Vall de Boí is much more than just to enjoy the landscape: it is to take a walk on history; to go back in time and relive a part of our ancestors’ way of life; to travel to the times when cars where merely science fiction and people had to make long journeys on foot in order to sell their animals at the cattle market or even to go courting.
The ancient trails are, thus, trails which have been used for many years by men and animals to go from one village to the other. To recondition these trails means, above all, to walk along them; to enjoy their landscapes and the animal and vegetal wild life that walks us on our way, but also to take pleasure in the dry-stone walls, retaining walls and cobblestones that were so patiently placed and that allow us, many centuries later, to retrace the steps of our ancestors.
