Difficulty

Distance

Duration
4.50hours
Elevation
920 m
Route

The starting point is the parking lot located by the road at the entrance of the Sant Martí valley. We will ascend via the track that runs along the shady side and gains elevation. Shortly before it ends, we will take the path that crosses a small stream to the left to climb up to a clearing and then descend to cross the river on a bridge.

A second ascent option is the track found on the sunny side with the GR11.20 markers, which soon turns into a trail. At the location of a ruined cabin, the terrain opens up and enters a high mountain area where avalanches can occur on the adjacent slopes.

Observations

Simple terrain surrounded by tall mountains with considerable elevation changes, combining forested and open terrain where avalanches can occur. In the first part, up to the ruined cabin, there is an option to go through the forest on the shady side, which is much safer in terms of avalanches, or through the open terrain on the sunny side, which is more exposed to avalanches.

North-south and west orientation. It is a route of high difficulty due to its length, elevation gain, and orientation.
