Inauguration of the Joan Perelada Multipurpose Space in Barruera

On Friday, May 9, the Vall de Boí Town Council inaugurated the new Joan Perelada Space in Barruera, a municipal facility designed as a meeting point for citizens and a venue for the municipality’s sporting, recreational, cultural, and social events.
The opening ceremony included a tour of the facilities, which cover an area of 902 m² and can accommodate approximately 650 people, and concluded with a community snack accompanied by music from the group Ribatònics.
This new facility reflects the council’s intention to encourage citizen participation and provide the municipality with a versatile space for community activities. The building stands out for its A-rated energy efficiency and its structure, which combines wood and iron. Sustainable materials were used in its construction, along with thermal and acoustic insulation, with the aim of making it as multifunctional as possible.
The facility is named after Joan Perelada, who was mayor of the Vall de Boí from 1995 to 2019. With this initiative, the council seeks to pay tribute to his career and dedication to the municipality.
